Jarod J. Fitzgerald, Ph.D., is a passionate advocate for mental health, guided by a fascination with understanding human thought processes, what drives behavior, and a dedication to nurturing resilient, healthy children. His practice embodies a balanced approach, blending person-centered and scientist-practitioner models of psychotherapy. By integrating scientific knowledge with individual perspectives, Dr. Fitzgerald tailors treatment to each person’s unique worldview, relationships, and diagnostic presentation. Dr. Fitzgerald obtained his Bachelor of Science degree and Master of Science degree in psychology from Washington State University, where he also earned his Doctor of Philosophy degree in clinical psychology. His dedication to the field led him to complete his internship in psychology at Lewisville Independent School District in Texas, followed by advanced fellowship training at the University of Idaho Child &Youth Study Center in Moscow, Idaho. With a belief in the power of psychology as a science, Dr. Fitzgerald leverages research insights to enhance symptom management and elevate quality of life. His joy lies in a genuine curiosity and a desire to know diverse persons across the life span and assisting them in achieving personal and family milestones while addressing challenges to their well-being. He specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, relationship-based interventions for autism, and dialectical behavior therapy as well as a wide range of evaluations, including psychological, ADHD, autism, developmental, and learning disability evaluations. In his spare time, he enjoys woodworking, automobile restoration, creative writing, and dog training.
